Masters of the Universe has been in the news a lot as of late with the new live-action film coming in June. As you would expect, there will be a lot of new toys, but the current Cartoon Collection will keep on with its focus on the MOTU 200x show.

I make it no secret that the 200x era is probably one of my least favorite for MOTU. That is mostly due to designs and proportions of the characters though, and I think the cartoon is actually quite good. So, I was torn when these were originally announced, and I was not sure if I would be collecting them.

Well, three series in now, and here I am – with all of the currently available figures on my shelf. This latest series feature Skeletor (finally!), Zodak, and Prince Adam, along with a deluxe/oversized Clawful. Frankly, like the ones that came before them, these are just great figures and capture the feel of the show quite well.

Of the three standard figures, Zodak is probably the most dynamic, but Skeletor and Adam are so much better than any previous incarnations of these looks that you have to give credit there, too. While the original design elements are still strong, these are all proportioned much better than those original 200x figures, so that is a marked improvement for me.

Clawful is my favorite, though, and not *just* because he is the deluxe figure. This version of him has never had a proper action figure, and the larger and more monstrous design actually suits him quite well. He follows Beastman and Ram Man as excellent large-scale figures, so I am looking forward to seeing who might occupy this slot next.
Speaking of, I hope Teela, Orko, Trap Jaw, and of course, my guy Mer-Man are coming soon, but there are still a lot of characters to get to. Here I am, collecting a 200x line I never expected to, and happily doing so. There is something about this line “having the power” or some such.

Does this work?
Yep. Even got the notification.
