Two properties that always seemed to go together in my youth have teamed up via a cool MOTU Origins line. Yep, ThunderCats and Masters of the Universe are together at last, and the figures have been fun so far. One of the best just released in the form of the evil Panthor Man!
I have been keeping mostly to the ThunderCats figures here as they have the ability to be outfitted in their Eternian mash-up garb, or in their classic ThunderCats looks, which I prefer. However, two new takes on some classic MOTU characters have turned out to be the best of the line. We got our Battle Cat Man in the previous series, and now his evil counterpart takes center stage.
It makes sense that Panthor and Battle Cat are the bridge between these two properties, and taking them to a new form is a fun way to realize a long-standing “what if” scenario. Moving from steeds to fighting cat dudes, we have never seen these two dudes like this before.
The best part is that they fit seamlessly with your classic MOTU Origins collection. If these would have had vintage figures, they are realized pretty perfectly now. It puts a new level of the transformations on display and what if He-Man and Skeletor had the chance to change their cats to fighting partners?
That is a cool prospect that can now play out on shelves!
