Exciting Review of McFarlane's New Ice Figure Unveiled!

The timeline for the McFarlane Toys’ run in the DC Universe is coming to a close, but that does not mean they are slowing down! I am such a mark for the Justice League International (JLI) as it was my first League, so you better believe I am all over those characters. Ice has finally arrived and the previously-released Fire has her partner in justice!

After Blue & Gold, Fire and Ice might be my favorite DC duo. I love the individual characterizations, but also the dynamic their bring as a team. I was so fortunate to cut my teeth with them during Giffen/DeMatteis and Kevin Maguire runs, so to say I have a ton of nostalgia here is an understatement. While I love Fire, Ice has always been my favorite of the two, so the wait has been tough, but I am glad to have her.

I like this figure for the most part, and portrait is quite good and befitting of Tora. Her outfit/base body is likely reused (I don’t know from what) due to the texturing, but while I would have preferred the iconic look, this actually works for a “cold” character. Everything looks more insulated. Her top is soft goods to accomplish that unique look, and for what it is, it does a nice job here.

She also has some ice effects, and I like the two smaller ones that fit over the hands. I would be remiss if I said I have completely figured out the other two pieces, but I will get there, haha. Also included is an art card and figure base, as you would expect with these releases.

There are still a few more figures for me to get before Mattel takes over, but I appreciate the depth McFarlane has gotten to with these releases, and Ice is a great example. JLI forever, baby!
